Moving and Surgery
June 27, 2005This Saturday is the big move! Then, I may not have internet service until the 7th. It probably won’t be too bad as I will be trying to unpack things, etc.
I am also having surgery soon. It hasn’t been scheduled yet, but the dr.’s office told me today they are thinking July 12. The insurance company has already authorized it. I am having dynesis system put in my back. This surgery is in lieu of having my spine fused at L3-L4 and L4-L5. Since I am only 30 years old there is a high risk of having future disc failures and spinal fusions in the next 10/20 years and a possibility of having my whole spine fused by the age of 60…I will work with all of my might to prevent that.
The surgery I am going to have is the least invasive of my options (dynesis, artificial discks, spinal fusion.) There is a high percentage that it will greatly reduce, if not get rid of completely the pain I have been living with.
With that said, there may not be a lot of blogging for me within the next month and may not be much crafting/crocheting/knitting, etc. sorry…

Worst Sandwiches
June 24, 2005Somebody in my mother's club wanted to know what type of sandwiches to make for their kids in preschool. My mom always made us pb&j and rarely waivered from that. Sometimes, we got bologne or tuna or maybe egg.
The worst sandwich I ever had was salmon and butter. I don't know if this is a staple in Canada, but the guy that let us stay at his house served it to us like it was caviar. We knew better and hoofed it to the only thing open…the donut shop.
So, what do you consider the worst…
liverwurst and onions (I actually like this…)
miracle whip and american cheese
have one to share?? This post is silly…I am trying not to box up my stuff to move…did I mention we are moving??? UGH!!

Purse – Knitted
(yes, you read that right…knit and purls) and crocheted w/ cotton-ease in pineapple. The pattern is from The Knitting Garden This really is a good knitting pattern for beginners as it really is just knitting and purling and no increases or decreases. I think it is rated intermediate because of the crocheting that is involved, so a bonus if you already know how to crochet. I am going to give this little purse to my daughter Sierra for Christmas. She loves purses and with the yarn that I used, it really is a kid’s purse. I know if I used a thicker/heftier yarn it would be better for an adult……………………..now…what will my next knitting project be? The problem is I only own one set of knitting needles and they aren’t circular, so I am a little limited at the moment.

Chained Daisy Top
June 22, 2005I frogged it. Sorry amy, I wish I would have seen your comment sooner. I did keep the top daisies and will probably work on this again after my move.
Everyone’s comments were unexpected, but have given me ideas.
I think the problem and what I don’t like about it the most is the large daisies. The irony to this is that the whole project started with the large daisies. I am going to pick this project back up after my move.
I can’t remember if I posted this, but I am moving on July 2nd. So, if I am not on here for awhile, that is the reason. Also, if I seem…discombobulated…well, that is why.
