Remember my post about the Teeny Tiny Felted Tote? Well, it is finished! Here are a few pics. I changed the straps from the pattern. I have a feeling this is going to be a Christmas gift. It is pretty cute. I threw my keys next to it for size reference.

Lost Mitten

September 28, 2005

Okay, okay…so it isn’t lost, just still on the needles. Here is a quick shot of the hat and mitten that I knitted for my friend’s son. It was hard to get a picture as miss Maddie was so happy and was running around the house with one mitten and the hat. ha ha…

The other picture is proof that somebody out there thinks of me…I don’t know who as honestly I couldn’t read the signature…I can only tell you it is an Arizona somebody. Thank you for the thoughtful postcard. It was a nice surprise, considering every time I go to my mailbox I get bills, it is nice to get something so bright and happy! My daughter, Sierra loved it also.

edited to add…I want to post pics, but blogger isn’t cooperating with me and I can’t find my Hello program…so it might take a few minutes/hours/days…before I can get the pics up, sorry.

Kool-Aid Hat

September 23, 2005

Yep, I am knitting up all of the Kool-Aid yarn. Here is a cute hat. I was going to make it for my friend’s son, but decided there is probably too much pink in there. My friend is such a kind person she would never tell me that it was too pink. I just have this feeling…besides, I put it on Madeleine’s head and she kind of went crazy modeling it for me and now I think she has claimed it. So, I went to my LYS and picked up 2 skeins of Cascade 220, color 9439 (which is blue with small amounts of green and purple in it.) Here is the pattern of the hat. It took me two nights to knit it up and I haven’t added the earflaps. I am not sure if I am going to.

Speaking of my LYS, I ran in there after I picked up Sierra from preschool (which by the way, she loves!) As I am purchasing the yarn, I start making small talk, which ended up sounding stupid. Then, I inquired if they were hiring, and of course everyone probably asks her that, which they weren’t. I just figured since I having Tony around for the mornings it would be nice to get a little extra income. So, then, just to really emphasize that I insist on making a fool of myself I ask her if she has anyone teaching crochet lessons, which she said no, she didn’t. She made sure she had my phone number and address and then I paid for my yarn and went on my merry way….

Until I got home and looked in the mirror. I had baby slime on my shoulder, I am wearing an old maternity shirt with bleached out armpits, shorts stained from chunky laundry detergent (don’t ask,) hair legs because it hurts my back to shave them, and hair barely brushed and pulled into pony tail. Can you say scummy? ICK! Plus, when I am nervous I babble and sometimes don’t make sense. I can only wonder what that lady was thinking about me as I left.

Mental note to self….the next time you decide to drop into local yarn store and ask for a job, make sure you are wearing clean clothes and are presentable!! sigh…

September 22, 2005

Why the sky? because…Sandy said so! Those are the type of clouds that you normally would see the day before it is suppose to rain. However, rain is not in the forecast…also, doesn’t the last picture kind of look like there is a small funnel shaped cloud in it?

On a side note…I finished the front and back of the crocheted pullover I am designing. I am now working on the sleeves. I have to take a small break from it tonight as I am knitting an earflap hat and some mittens for a friend who is giong camping in a week. I hope by Sunday I will have some pictures of the pullover. I cannot give you an estimate on the pattern. However, I am considering doing a combo of a halter/tank top (vest)/ and pullover pattern. I know that sounds strange, but they all start out the same (atleast my pattern does) but they end a little different.

Crochetville Winter Scarf Swap

September 19, 2005

Oh…chickpea67…I know that this isn’t a surprise type thing…so, just thought I would give you a tease. I have to tell you that I don’t have the yarn the pattern called for. In fact, even the manufactures website didn’t have all of the yarns…

So I am substituting with interesting textures/combos/and colors….also…not sure the pattern is written how the picture looks…so kind of putting my own twist on it…would you like a tease? It is blurred…but on purpose. 😉

Teeny Tiny Felted Tote

September 18, 2005

I finished the Teeny Tiny Felted Tote. It is being blocked right now. Here are some before and after pics. I think this will be the perfect bag for me, as I usually carry a small wallet, keys, and phone. I used Wool of the Andes and dyed it with Kool-Aid. I love this colorway. I hope I have enough yarn left to make Sierra a hat.
