Quick update

February 12, 2006

I finished the body shaping and have to rip it out. Somehow I was off and the “darts” or decreases in the front and back are not aligned right. I am off on one side. It isn’t that noticeable, but I don’t want to be one of those people with a dorky mishapen garment because it has that “homemade” look. It would be nice to finish this and have “everyday folk” (you know, the non-crafty type) ask where I got my sweater.

I will put in a lifeline tonight and start ripping.

I went to Mendocino this weekend to see my parents. I love being there. Ocean view, no cooking or cleaning, free babysitting, happy kids, happy grandparents, happy all around…oh, and very nice yarn store. It has the largest selection of yarn. I spent some time talking with the owner. She is always so friendly and so welcoming. I don’t get that at my local yarn store. Since I am up at my folks place every few months, I kind of consider that store as my local yarn store.

Madeleine was sick before we left (diarrhea) and then threw up on the windy part of the trip. We are use to the throwing up in the car as both kids get car sick. However, Madeleine kept getting sick all weekend and was super clingy and not to me, to Tony. She so turned into a daddy’s girl. It was kind of a relief for me as I wasn’t to thrilled to have a sick baby hanging on me all weekend. She got sick on the way home, wanted to eat. We gave her crackers and she later threw those and gatorade up. She has lost some weight from this weekend. I hope tomorrow she is better and I hope no one else gets it.

I have pictures of something I picked up from the yarn store and started working on. I also got a neat magnetic hematite bracelet I want to show off. Maybe I will post them tomorrow. I am just too tired.

Oh, and to those who have been posting about weather. It has been sunny and in the 70’s here. Tell me again that it is still winter….just do it! (no really, it is suppose to get *cold*…you know in the 50’s and rain by the end of the week. I swear it is!) I can brag about this now. This summer when it is 108 degrees here and I am sitting in my 70 degree climate contolled house complaining about how dang hot it is outside you can tell me how wonderful (I mean humid) it is where you live.)

  1. I hope the little ones are feeling better soon!

Thought I would stop by and say hello since you left a comment on my blog. It’s funny to find a fellow blogger who lives in the same town! I look forward to reading your blog and getting to know you 😉

  2. Ugh-car sickness and vomiting and diarrhea, ugh. Hope she’s better soon. Elena always loses weight when she gets the runs.

You got to go to a LYS-lucky dog.

    Snow is still freaking here!

  3. I’m sorry about the sweater and your baby. 😦 I hope you have better news soon.
